My name is Frankie Macaulay. I’m a visual artist, born and based in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
I’m inspired by nature and architecture. I enjoy creating small, three-dimensional sculptures with paper. With a background in photography, I've often used image in my artwork, but prefer to ignore the intrinsic ability of digital photography to produce infinite multiples. I build single-edition objects with heavy weight papers, printed photographs and cardstock. Most recently, I've started exploring large-scale cardboard installations.
I graduated with honors from NSCAD University, completing my Bachelor of Fine Arts with a Major in Photography. I've exhibited with galleries in Nova Scotia, Québec, Ontario and British Columbia; and outdoor art projects in Nova Scotia and Stuttgart, Germany.
